How it Works
Tasmaniak Guitars designs 3D-printed electric guitar and bass bodies intended to be printed, assembled, and played as real instruments.
You are purchasing digital design files, not a finished guitar.
If you can run a 3D printer and follow basic build steps, you can build one of these.
Purchase & Download
When you buy a Tasmaniak Guitars product, you receive an instant digital download.
Your download typically includes:
- STL files for all body parts
- Optional variants where applicable
- Basic build notes and guidance
- Any required support or orientation recommendations
No waiting. No shipping. No mystery box.
3D Print the Parts
All bodies are designed specifically for FDM 3D printing.
Parts are split logically, tolerances are realistic, and common materials such as PLA, ABS, ASA, and carbon-fibre blends are supported.
We recommend ABS or ASA where possible for strength, heat resistance, and weight.
PLA is perfectly usable, but will typically result in a body around 15% heavier.
Most completed bodies in ABS or ASA average around 2 kg, depending on infill and print settings.
Source Standard Hardware
No proprietary parts and no gimmicks.
Designs are built around off-the-shelf guitar hardware, including:
- Standard bolt-on necks
- Common bridge types
- Standard pickups and electronics
- Each product page clearly lists compatible hardware.
Assemble the Body
Printed parts are joined using straightforward workshop methods.
Alignment features are built into the design, and assembly does not rely on guesswork, flex, or fragile tolerances.
This stage rewards patience and accuracy, not luck.
Final Assembly & Setup
Install the neck, bridge, pickups, and electronics.
String the instrument and perform a standard setup.
The result is a fully playable guitar or bass, not a decorative print or novelty object.
Skill Level
These designs are intended for makers, not push-button beginners.
Best suited to people with:
- Basic 3D printing experience
- Familiarity with guitar components
- Willingness to test-fit, adjust, and refine
Difficulty varies by model and is stated clearly.
Licensing
Files are provided for personal use unless stated otherwise.
You are free to build, modify, and play your instrument.
Resale of files or printed bodies is not permitted without explicit permission.
Support
Build notes are included, and ongoing help is available through the Tasmaniak Guitars Discord:
https://discord.gg/RFjwUC3B
Inside the Discord you’ll find:
- Direct access to the designer
- Input from builders who have already completed other Tasmaniak Guitars models
- Real-world solutions, build photos, and variations that don’t exist in manuals
You’re responsible for your build, but you’re not doing it in isolation.
In Short
